Cfes delivers NHS Nightingale Hospital in record time.
A huge thank you to all the NHS staff, Military, cfes staff, the design team, our sub contractors and supply chain in what has been an unbelievable and challenging last 3 weeks.
From a phone call on Friday 20th March at 18.15pm we attended an NHS and Military briefing at Excel Centre on the Saturday 21st. Draft design work on Sunday 22nd and we started work with the most extraordinary brief on Monday 23rd March. Build and service up to 4000 bed bays as quick as you can in weeks not months.
Too many individuals and groups to mention separately on this project but the initial key team members of; the NHS Royal Free Estates and Facilities, the Military with logistics and Wilson James, BDP design, RSP design and cfes Ltd as Principal Contractor hit the ground running like never seen before. 16 to 18 hour shifts flat out for 9 days with circa 300 plus workforce
in only what I can describe as a ‘war time like spirit’ approach – days and nights that many of us will never forget.
500 bed bays ready in 9 days with now a rolling programme of circa 500 bed bays each week. A quite outstanding achievement by all involved; those who started the project and the many other consultant groups and PM teams, construction / engineering support and clinical who have joined at various stages over the last few weeks. Every party has come with the attitude “how can we help”.
A mention must be made to the many volunteers who have helped from deliveries and the donation of equipment and supplies, alongside support from our own supply chain and professional services for the provision of goods and services without charge.
Thank you to you all.
