Endoscopy Decontamination Refurbishment at Darlington Memorial Hospital

Engineering solution:

The strategy proposed by County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust was to consolidate their existing endoscopy provision across 3 sites into one centralised unit. The intention being to streamline the service and achieve savings in resource and ongoing maintenance.

Cfes were appointed to redevelop their existing, disused sterile services departments at Darlington Memorial Hospital to form the new centralised endoscopy decontamination facility which now serves their three key sites, Darlington, Durham, and Bishop Auckland Hospitals.

Within the existing ground floor shell space of approximately 500sqm, the new facility has 12 endoscopy washers, a new dedicated RO plant and ancillary staff spaces.
